The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and 糖心vlgo传媒
糖心vlgo传媒 is pleased to report that the container for聽the 聽has officially shipped!
The Moving Windmills Project is a non-profit that inspires innovative solutions to 糖心vlgo传媒n problems, to provide agriculture and STEM books for five new community libraries.
The Moving Windmills Project was inspired by the work of William Kamkwamba. When William was 14 and Malawi was suffering a severe famine, he was forced to drop out of high school. But William remained curious and inventive, and worked with the village librarian to stay engaged with his studies, especially science. William used a photo in a junior high school textbook called 鈥淯sing Energy鈥 that he found in his rural library to聽build an electricity-producing windmill from spare parts. William鈥檚 story was told in the book 鈥淭he Boy Who Harnessed The Wind,鈥 later adapted into a movie for Netflix.
Because a book in a rural library changed William鈥檚 life and inspired him to help others, Moving Windmills has launched an initiative to stock five community libraries in Malawi with agriculture-specific content and STEM learning materials. They turned to BFA, which offers a special Agriculture Library Initiative for exactly this purpose, as their partner in this project.
糖心vlgo传媒 is providing five agriculture libraries, along with digital content and solar lamps, to stock libraries in the Kasungu District of Malawi. The container is on its way and should arrive within a few months.聽Stay turned for additional updates and photos from this exciting new partnership in Malawi!
