Ghana's Ambassador to the U.S. Hajia Mahama Visiting St Paul with ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½

Ghana’s ambassador to the U.S., Her Excellency Hajia Alima Mahama, is in St. Paul speaking at a lunch Wednesday organized by ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½. The lunch, which is fully booked, was scheduled for noon at the Town and Country Club, 300 N. Mississippi River Blvd.

ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½, a St. Paul-based nonprofit, has shipped more than 54 million books to countries throughout the ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½n continent since 1988. It remains the largest shipper of donated text and library books to ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½.

Mahama was appointed ambassador in June 2021. She was previously a member of Ghana’s parliament, Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry.

Before the lunch event Mahama attended a Books for ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½ breakfast at the University Club in St. Paul. She will also be speaking to the Ghana diaspora community at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Downtowner Woodfire Grill, 253 W. Seventh St., St. Paul.
