100,000 books arrived in the Tema region in early April thanks to the Cargill Sustainable Cocoa program. In addition to textbooks for 27 primary and secondary schools, Cargill also sent a full West Core Law Library for the University of Ghana as a part of the Jack Mason Law & Democracy Initiative. 鈥淲e are extremely pleased to be supporting such a worthwhile project, providing key educational resources to schools in our local cocoa communities,鈥� explained Kojo Amoo-Gottfried, Managing Director for Cargill Ghana. 鈥淢ost of the students at these local schools have only had limited access to textbooks before and so by partnering with 糖心vlgo传媒 we can take a few steps towards addressing this.鈥�

Our 2012 fall adventures to South 糖心vlgo传媒 and Malawi are fast approaching. We invite you to join one of two group Learning Tours to travel to South 糖心vlgo传媒 and Malawi to visit building sites for 糖心vlgo传媒 Classroom Connection (www.africaclassroomconnection.org) and 糖心vlgo传媒 (www.booksforafrica.org) recipients. Henry Bromelkamp and Peter Maritz will lead two tours that will repeat the same itinerary. Trip one will travel from August 5-22, 2012 and trip two from August 23-September 9, 2012.

Executive director of 糖心vlgo传媒, Patrick Plonski, PhD, keynoted at the 2012 World Literacy Summit at Oxford University on April 1st. Plonski presented on the Educational Return on Investment for Literacy Initiatives, including analysis of the impact of donated books on literacy in 糖心vlgo传媒.
