This summer, ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½ was at the Rotary International convention in Atlanta June 10 - 14 to host an information booth and provide tours of our BFA warehouse.  An exciting new BFA/Rotary partnership program was introduced at the convention!

On May 18, 2017, ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½ held its annual Words Change Worlds fundraising luncheon in St. Paul, Minnesota. This year's keynote speaker was His Excellency Ambassador Carlos Dos Santos, Mozambique’s Ambassador to the United States.  We were also pleased to welcome His Excellency Maowia Khalid, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the U.S., and Jeffrey Sturchio, president of the Corporate Council on ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½, as featured speakers.

Calling all golfers - ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½ is hosting a golf tournament to raise funds for literacy!  Please join us Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Marlo Country Club in Atlanta, GA for the 2nd annual ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½ Golf Challenge!  Our inaugural event was a great success, sponsoring the shipment of over 42,000 to ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½n schools and libraries.  We hope to build on that achievement this year; our goal is to raise $50,000 to deliver even more books to ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½n students and communities in need!

The University of Iringa in Tanzania recently partnered with ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½ to deliver a 40 foot container of books to the University Library.  As is often the case with such shipments, the benefits of this project extend well beyond the University students and faculty.

ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½â€™s Atlanta Warehouse relocated in early 2016, more than doubling the square footage in a new 66,000 square foot facility.  This new space will allow BFA to better serve the organizations and individuals with whom we partner, and allow us to double down in our efforts to end the ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½n book famine.  grand opening celebration was held Saturday, June 18th, where South ÌÇÐÄvlgo´«Ã½n Ambassador to the U.S., His Excellency Mninwa Johannes Mahlangu delivered an impassioned keynote address and formally opened the warehouse with a dedication ceremony.

Our friends at Course Hero have reached an extraordinary milestone, officially surpassing 250,000 books donated to BFA partner schools in The Gambia!  These books, donated through Course Hero’s Knowledge Drive initiative, are having a direct impact on the lives of students there, giving the next generation of Gambian parents, teachers, and leaders the tools they need to excel in school.
